Summary

The Hospitality Manager – Bay Host owns the guest experience across every hospitality space on the site: 22 field-level hitting bays on Dooley Field, the VIP Lounge and Georgia Football Locker Room, the Recruiting Lounge, and the Plaza on Friday through Sunday. The role builds, trains and leads the host teams in each of those areas, sets and holds one service standard across all four, and keeps guests moving through a timed play cycle without ever making them feel the clock.

Group outing nights and VIP programming are the highest-stakes hospitality of the week and sit squarely in this role. So does the hand-off between spaces — a VIP guest may touch the Locker Room, the bay and the Recruiting Lounge in the same visit, and it has to feel like one experience.

Because this is the first stop of a touring property, the standard this role sets in Athens becomes the standard the tour carries to every venue after it. The playbook does not exist yet — this role helps write it.

Core responsibilities

1. Team leadership & training

  • Leads and trains the host teams across all four areas within a 50+ person event staff — hiring input, onboarding, role assignment, daily briefings, in-the-moment coaching and feedback.
  • Writes and enforces the service standard for each space: host scripts, greeting, bay orientation, safety talk, lounge and Plaza hosting, hand-off and farewell.
  • Appoints and develops area leads for the Locker Room, Recruiting Lounge and Plaza.
  • Ensures every host is trained in safety protocols before taking a position.
  • Builds a bench — cross-trains hosts so any position in any area can be covered on short notice.
  • Builds training materials portable enough to onboard a new local staff at each tour stop.

2. Bay operations & guest flow

  • Oversees day-to-day operations at bay level: readiness, cleanliness, organization, stocked supplies and consistent presentation across all 22 bays.
  • Runs the guest side of the play cycle — walk-up, orientation, warnings, clear and hand-off to the next group — in coordination with the Field Manager.
  • Coordinates bay assignments and guest arrivals with check-in, ticketing and guest services.
  • Owns the on- and off-field guest path, including redirecting guests coming off the field into the Recruiting Lounge, the Plaza or out — every guest leaving the field gets somewhere to go next.

3. Premium spaces — VIP Lounge / Locker Room, Recruiting Lounge, Plaza

  • VIP Lounge and Georgia Football Locker Room: greeting, access control at the door, cohort pacing in and out of the room, the bar and drink-ticket redemption, and the premium touches that make the space the story of the night.
  • Recruiting Lounge: greeter and access standard, simulator hosting, guest flow and dwell management.
  • Plaza, Friday through Sunday: arrival experience, hosting presence, wayfinding, and the handoff from the Plaza into the rest of the site.
  • Holds one consistent standard across all four spaces so the experience does not change when the guest does.

4. Beverage service & guest recovery

  • Beverage service at the bays — drinks only. There is no food service at the bays; hosts direct guests to concessions for food.
  • Drink-ticket redemption at the Locker Room bar, and beverage service standards in the lounges and Plaza.
  • Point-of-sale and day-of purchase support where applicable.
  • Handles guest inquiries, issues and feedback on the spot — resolves fast, escalates cleanly, documents what needs fixing.
  • Enforces safety, health and alcohol-service regulations in every area.
  • Feeds process improvements back to production nightly, and into the tour playbook for the next stop.

5. Pre-event, post-event & tour readiness

  • Contributes host staffing plan, training schedule, scripts and position sheets for all four areas to the Production Book before load-in.
  • Supports setup during load-in and breakdown during strike — equipment accounted for, spaces returned to standard.
  • Documents what worked and what did not so each stop opens better than the last.

Skills & attributes

  • Proven leadership of guest-facing teams at volume — stadium premium, clubs, resorts, restaurants, festivals or experiential activations.
  • Comfortable leading 50+ event staff across multiple areas at once.
  • Premium and VIP hospitality experience; comfortable with high-expectation guests.
  • Able to train a brand-new staff to a standard in days, then hold it for six straight days — and do it again in a new city with a new crew.
  • Calm, warm and fast in a high-volume, hard-deadline environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable on a radio.
  • Detail-obsessed about the things guests notice.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, alcohol service and POS systems.
  • Golf, stadium or premium hospitality background preferred.
  • Available to travel for tour stops, or based in an SEC, Big 12 or ACC market.
