ATLANTA, GA – March 28, 2018 – MELT (www.meltatl.com) the award-winning sports, entertainment and culinary marketing agency announced today that they are a finalist for the prestigious Cynopsis 2018 Social Good Award. New York-based Cynopsis is a major trade and media organization that covers the sports, entertainment, broadcasting and marketing industries.

MELT University Finalist in the “Social Good Influencers” Category

MELT University, the highly-acclaimed intern program founded by MELT Founder and CEO Vince Thompson has influenced the lives of hundreds of college students and has spawned many sports marketing careers. The program was nominated for its 2017 program that included 37 students from 25 major colleges and universities including The University of Alabama, Auburn University, The University of Georgia, The University of Texas, The University of Notre Dame and many others. The immersive eight-week program featured 60 different professional speakers, 10 research field trips and participation in real-world activities such as ESPN College GameDay, Hangout Music Festival and more. And the only way to win an entry-level job at MELT is to complete the MELT University program, which allows MELT to have a high retention rate among young employees. Thompson formed MELT University due to his own experiences as a student-assistant in the Auburn University Athletic Department, which started him on his career path to start MELT in 2000. Other finalists for the award include Discovery Channel and Univision. The winners will be announced Tuesday, May 22 at The Yale Club in New York City. In 2014, MELT and Thompson also won a Cynopsis Social Good Award for their community and cause-related work.

The 2018 MELT University Class will be announced in the coming days and will once again host about 40 college students from across the country. This year’s class will also host about 60 speakers from across many marketing and professional spectrums.
