Flaming Lips “Dark Side of the Moon”

ATLANTA, GA — MELT (www.meltatl.com) is proud to announce the world premier of its first two national Palladia Television Network music shows on Monday, August 27th at 9:00pm EST. Both shows were shot the weekend of May 18-20th from the world-famous Hangout Fest Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The two shows will feature the following:
- A two-hour highlight show featuring performances by the Dave Matthews Band, Flaming Lips, Alabama Shakes, Dispatch, Dawes, and other top acts. Show to air Monday, August 27th at 9:00pm EST.
- A one-hour highlight show featuring the Flaming Lips’ performance of Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album. Show will air Tuesday, August 28th at 9:00pm EST.
The Hangout Music Festival, in its third year, attracted nearly 40,000 fans to the idyllic coastline setting in Gulf Shores, Alabama. MELT formed an alliance with Hangout Fest founder Shaul Zislin to produce both television shows and a live three-day stream of the festival on MySpace.com, which resulted in over four million total online streams. EMMY award-winning director and producer Craig Silver teamed up with MELT to film and produce the entire weekend event.
VIACOM’s Palladia Network is a high-definition music channel that showcases the best performances from today’s top artists. Palladia covers the hottest festival and concert event world-wide and is distributed through select cable and satellite providers, including: Direct TV, Dish Network, Comcast, Time Warner, Verizon, and U-Verse. The two Hangout Fest highlight shows will be a part of Palladia’s Outdoor Week promotion.
