In 2000, Thompson founded and has built MELT into one of the nation’s largest independent sports/culinary/entertainment marketing agencies. This includes MELT’s 19-year representation of The Coca-Cola Company, activating 16 straight Final Fours, 6 seasons of ESPN College GameDay, FIFA, MLB, MLS, Nascar, PGA and Olympics. Clients include 404 Vodka, Avid Hotels, Body Armor, F&B, Cam Newton’s Fellaship, Core Power, Corky’s, GA Crown, Herb & Lou’s, Holiday Inn Express, KIA, MVP Clothing, Powerade, Valser, Wingstop and Dr. Vonda Wright. MELT produces 1000 events annually.

Thompson, a 1984 graduate of Auburn University, was a Student Assistant in the SID and a Sports Editor for The Auburn Plainsman. This led to the formation of MELT University, an award-winning intern program for college students. He lectures at universities and appears on The Paul Finebaum Show.
