Atlanta, GA – MELT (www.meltatl.com) CEO Vince Thompson will be the featured speaker at the upcoming R.I.C.E. Awards (Rising In Community Excellence) to be held at Spring Hall at Global Forum in Atlanta tomorrow from 6-10 p.m.
The R.I.C.E. Awards are given to individuals who exemplify professional excellence while edifying the community. Category nominees include outstanding individuals from the following areas: business; beauty and fashion; non-profit; civil service; health and welfare; entertainment; education; media; music and arts; technology and sustainability.
Hosted by Rodney Perry, and featuring the culinary talents of executive chef Rob Stewart, the awards were created by C. Chandon Carter to celebrate those individuals who are both innovative and charitable within their community.
Thompson’s talk, “Breaking the Cycle,” will empower and encourage Atlantans to help an individual, a family or their community to help break the cycle of poverty, homelessness and other situations. This past May, Thompson was awarded Father of the Year by the American Diabetes Association for his work in the Atlanta community. Thompson also serves on the Board of Directors of the Showcase Group, volunteers with Wellspring Living - - an organization to stop human sex trafficking - - and raises funds for the Arthritis Foundation.
