ATLANTA — Chairman and CEO Vince Thompson will address The Kiwanis Club of Atlanta today (August 23) on the thriving college football community in advance of the kickoff of the 2016 college football season.

MELT (www.meltatl.com), the award-winning sports and entertainment marketing firm that Thompson founded in 2000 has become a dominant, national player in the booming collegiate sports marketing business.

MELT represents many national and major corporations in college football including The Coca-Cola Company, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Holiday Inn Express, KIA Motors, Gildan Apparel and many others. In 2015 MELT was awarded the Agency of the Year by The American Business Awards for their work on the NCAA Men’s Final Four, ESPN College GameDay and many more activations. In 2014, MELT captured The Cynopsis Brand Activation of the Year and in 2013, MELT’s President Michelle Grech was named a “Game Changer” by The Sports Business Journal.

Thompson also frequently lectures at college and universities as part of the agency’s MELT University intern program which provides college students with real-world sports marketing experience and training. The year’s MELT U Class of 2016 recently graduated 19 interns, Thompson himself supplemented his experience as a student assistant in Auburn University’s Sports Information Department during the Bo Jackson and Charles Barkley era. Thompson’s speech will focus on how Atlanta has become a major force in the college football world with the new Mercedes-Benz Dome, The College Football Playoffs and National Championship, The SEC Championship and the new College Football Hall of Fame all contributing to the effort.

“I’m honored to address The Kiwanis Club of Atlanta about Atlanta’s thriving college football scene and the 2016 kickoff,” Thompson said.
