Atlanta, GA – Atlanta-based MELT, a fully integrated sports and entertainment marketing agency, has been named the agency of record for Jeff Foxworthy’s Southern Creations and its parent company, Roswell Food Group, makers of Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips.

Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips, founded by comedian Jeff Foxworthy and Roswell Food Group President Sean McDonough, are continuing to gain distribution throughout the US, including Cracker Barrel, Food City, Ingles and Kroger.

MELT will begin to oversee several facets of the marketing of this brand including packaging, retail promotions, sampling, event execution, sponsorships, social media and creative advertising.

“We felt like MELT offered us the best and widest set of capabilities given their success in retail promotions, their understanding of working with a celebrity of Jeff’s stature, trial and sampling strategy and their understanding and knowledge of the sponsorship and property marketplace,” said McDonough. “They are the perfect fit.”

MELT CEO Vince Thompson echoed McDonough’s remarks, “The Foxworthy brand is a fantastic brand and one in which we think has great growth potential. Plus the quality of the product, the outstanding management team and growth distribution certainly makes this an appealing opportunity long term.”

Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips are offered in four mouth-watering flavors including the Original with “Salt & Butter”, tangy “Cheddar Cheese”, spicy “Jalapeno Cheddar,” and Jeff’s favorite “Sweet Heat.” More line and brand extensions are expected soon, including a line of southern hummus and dips.

Foxworthy, known for his famous comedy routine, “You Might Be a Redneck,” and Blue-Collar Comedy, has recently begun to branch out into southern lifestyle brands and cuisine.

Foxworthy and McDonough met through a chance encounter and the rest, as they say, is “history.” McDonough, owner of The Roswell Tap, a local pub located in Roswell, GA, created the Grit Chips during one of his infamous food creation sessions at “The Tap.” Foxworthy tasted Grit Chips, loved them and decided to dive into the food business with McDonough.

Jeff Foxworthy’s Grit Chips and hair salon giant Great Clips ™ are co-sponsoring the upcoming “Great Clips Grit Chips 300” at Atlanta Motor Speedway this Labor Day weekend.

MELT is expected to assist in the development of future retail programming, expansion of NASCAR involvement, the formulation of a high school and collegiate tailgating strategy, as well as broaden sports entertainment and creative platforms.
