For my first week as an intern at MELT, I have been placed on the lifestyle marketing team with Daisy and Jason. From day one they have been very open and understanding about what I will be doing and learning all summer. This is extremely exciting for me because I get a chance to see the ins and outs of how the business works from two experienced people. Even though this is my first week at MELT, the entire staff has been very kind and they really make me and the other interns feel right at home. I’m looking forward to following around Jason and Daisy and trying to pick their brains since there is so much to learn from them.
I’ve already realized some key aspects that I would like to learn about the business. For example, learning the key words or lingo that marketers use within the company, along with learning how the different agencies come together to carry out a certain project. Ultimately, the goal for the summer is to enhance my understanding of the business by being in meetings, conference calls and attending events and seeing how it all comes together. Finally, I hope to accomplish all of this while having fun and keeping an open mind to trying new things.
