ATLANTA, Ga. — MELT, the Atlanta-based sports and entertainment marketing firm, is excited to announce that today kicks off the 10th year of MELT’s nationally-acclaimed summer internship program, MELT University (MELT U).

The mission for MELT U is simple: for millennials to help evaluate and optimize marketing sponsorship and brand activation by allowing them to experience numerous areas within the sports marketing industry. Such areas include Experiential Marketing, Account Teams, Digital & Social Media, Creative, Production, and Multimedia Development. Our MELT U courses will allow our interns to gain insight on Shopper Marketing, Brand Building, College Football, Sponsorship Marketing, Fan Passion, and Social Media & VR.

This year, 19 interns will gain valuable experience from MELT training and case study reviews, industry leader key-note speeches, independent research, and on-site field study. During this time, they will be preparing a Capstone Report that will merge their knowledge on what matters most in the eyes of millennials regarding brand activation & sponsorships and what will drive purchase intent.

“We are so happy to welcome the best of the best into the MELT U program,” MELT Chairman/CEO Vince Thompson said. “For us, it’s not just about giving back to the community because we learn so much from having so many great young minds working with us each day.”

Key Milestones of MELT U, include:

-Weekly training
-Lunch & Learns
-Weekly field trips
-Weekly written & video blogs
-Team check-ins & Capstone reviews
-Real-world event activation experience
-Final Capstone presentation to industry leaders

With so many exciting venues in the Atlanta area, the MELT U Class of 2016 will have an opportunity to tour some of the best with trips to SunTrust Park, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, World of Coca-Cola and the College Football Hall of Fame all on tap.

Confirmed Lunch & Learn speakers include Larry Small, Advertising & Brand Manager at the Georgia Lottery and Bryan Wish, founder of Wish Dish. The team will also work closely with great causes in the Atlanta area including Wellspring Living, Showcase Group and the Arthritis Foundation.
