Alumni Spotlight: Sydney Janes

I was fortunate enough to be part of Melt university in the summer of 2016 and then was able to be on the intern coordinating staff for the next two summers. The program helped me discover my passions and exposed me to things that I never thought a college student would be able to experience. I owe almost everything I do in my career to the program.

You are hearing from the people that are ruling the industry, what you are experiencing this summer no classroom can teach. You are developing contacts that will frame your career and will be in your corner every step of the way. One my biggest takeaways from the program is to strive to be uncomfortable, because that is when growth happens. This advice is what led me to my first job. It was the scariest option but it provided me the opportunity to grow and learn. When you seek growth you will be able see what it looks like to flourish.

To all MELT U 2020 students I urge you to be a sponge, soak it all in because I promise you there’s no other place like it. Oh and never forget the thank you note!
