HANGOUT MUSIC FEST GOES GLOBAL ON PALLADIA AND MYSPACE
May 14, 2012
GULF SHORES, Ala.----- For the first time in the event’s three-year history, fans of The Hangout Music Fest will have a chance to experience the concert on both Palladia and MySpace. The Hangout Music Fest, featuring Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dave Matthews Band, will be served up globally, as part of a television and live stream deal by Atlanta-based MELT (www.meltatl.com) and North Star Media, based in New York City.
The Hangout Music Fest (May 18-20) will once again attract 40,000 concertgoers to Gulf Shores Alabama for an all-star line-up of 40+ acts. MELT will serve as Executive Producer of all video aspects of the event from onsite to television to the live stream. As part of the production, MELT is producing a two-hour highlight show to air on Palladia, a Viacom network, as well as the Flaming Lips performing Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, also set to for broadcast on Palladia. Additionally, MELT will be producing the three-day live stream on MySpace.
Fans can tune into www.myspace.com/hangoutfestival Friday through Sunday from 2-11p CST. Fans do not need to be a member of MySpace to join.
In addition to the live stream, MySpace will also archive the music for two weeks following the event, so fans can fully enjoy the VOD experience.
The Hangout Fest was voted Pollstar’s “Festival of the Year” in only its second year and continues to grow in importance, stature, and magnitude on the summer music scene.
According to proprietor Shaul Zislin, “We strive to bring the most unique experience by merging the most beautiful beaches in the world with the best music performances in an intimate setting, and we are proud to be marketing and production partners with MELT, as they are important to the long-term vision of elevating this festival to world class status.”
With four stages and non-stop music, fans will now have an opportunity through both the Palladia and MySpace productions to experience all of the performances in full vs. having to choose from one act or another. Every year the festival continues to grow and add new features including VIP Cabanas, a Sky bar viewing area and DJ tent stage.
“Taking the Hangout Music Fest global represents the next step in our evolution as a world class live music event”, said Zislin. “MELT’s live production expertise, mixed with Alabama’s white sand beaches and some of the world’s greatest musicians, will make for compelling digital experiences for a new breed of Hangout fan worldwide.”
MELT will continue to work with the Hangout Fest in 2013 and increase opportunities for fans, corporate sponsors and content distribution.
